Established in 1948 by Carey and Mary Holmes, the Blue Front Cafe is the oldest continuously operating juke joint in Mississippi. It is the birthplace of the "Bentonia School" of bluesβa haunting, minor-key style passed down from Henry Stuckey and Skip James to current owner Jimmy "Duck" Holmes.
